Low-Earth Orbit interceptor by Guilhem-Bedos Low-Earth Orbit interceptor by Guilhem-Bedos
The descendant of the Stratofighter [link] : see how much the overall envergure has been reduced thus making of the
fighter a far smaller target; reinforced crew compartment also provides much better protection for the pilot; made with pencil in 1996

That is a damn clever design! Love its simplicity! No canopy?

No, I thought that because space combat occurs at great distances and immense speeds, direct visual contact is irrelevant, therefore it is safer to put the crew compartment deep inside the unit instead of making it reachable from the outside – pilot training is costy, as you probably know... ;]

Thanks for your interest and your comment, and especially for the watch: much appreciated, really. Take care!

Reminds me some of a space ship I commonly wrote into a virtual series years ago.

I do like it. Simple shape but a very effective one :) sometimes 'simple' is better

Exactly what I think every time I see one of these modern, "overcrowded with useless details" designs: sometimes, I've the feeling that nowaday artists have forgotten that more is not always better...

Thanks for your comment: much appreciated! :)

Very Star Wars like, yet different enough to stand on it's own. Excellent work!

It slightly reminds me of a paper airplane, but in a good way. The triangle shape and two engines in the back makes the figther look very swift and dangerous.

No problem!
I still wonder, what are those small holes under the wing? Are they something like thrusters that allow the aircraft to hover in place, like jump jets?

Frankly, after all these years, I don't really remember why I drew these things there any more... But, yeah, they may very well be some hovering devices, or at least VTOL capable thrusters :)
